TC4钛合金与超高分(fēn)子量聚乙烯(UHMWPE)是常用(yòng)的生物(wù)医用(yòng)材料。在人工关节假體(tǐ)的应用(yòng)中,两者的高质量连接是一个迫切需要解决的难题。机械连接和粘结是连接金属和高分(fēn)子材料的传统方法,但在生物(wù)医用(yòng)中分(fēn)别存在微扰而影响骨整合的问题和破坏生物(wù)相容性的安全风险。而金属和高分(fēn)子这两大类材料间的焊接技术和连接机制本身也是目前研究人员非常关注的技术难点和科(kē)學(xué)问题。搅拌摩擦焊接(FSW)技术具有(yǒu)焊接温度低和热力条件可(kě)控等优势。本项目使用(yòng)FSW搭接方法,通过对焊接热力条件变化规律及其工艺调控方法的研究,以及对TC4表面组织结构、UHMWPE表面活性和微观结构的设计与调控,有(yǒu)望实现高质量的TC4/UHMWPE间焊接。并进一步解析FSW中TC4/UHMWPE的连接机制及其对接头力學(xué)性能(néng)的影响。这些研究将為(wèi)TC4/UHMWPE间FSW工艺优化提供科(kē)學(xué)指导,解决生物(wù)医用(yòng)中对TC4/UHMWPE间高质量焊接的需求。
英文(wén)摘要:
TC4 Titanium alloy and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) are widely used biomedical materials. In the manufacturing of artificial joints, high-quality joining between TC4 and UHMWPE has been a critical problem. Metals and polymers are conventionally joined by mechanical fastening and adhesive bonding. However, these two welding methods have the problem of fretting and causing safety risk due to biocompatibility problem, respectively. The welding between metals and polymer materials and the bonding mechanisms have been drawing a lot research attention recently in the field. Friction stir welding (FSW) has the advantages of low welding temperature and the controllable thermodynamic conditions. In the present study, the TC4/UHMWPE FSW technique will be developed. Based on the study on thermodynamic condition evolution at TC4/UHMWPE interface during welding and through the design and control of the surface microstructure of TC4 and the surface activity of UHMWPE, high-quality joints can be achieved by FSW. The bonding mechanisms and their effects on the mechanical properties of the joints will be further studied. This research will provide solid fundamentals for further optimizing the process of TC4/UHMWPE FSW and the future application of TC4/UHMWPE FSW joints. In addition to fulfil the urgent need of high-quality TC4/UHMWPE welds in the biomedical application, this study will also contribute to the development of FSW and other welding methods in welding metals and polymers together.
